Free Help with Dementia Care
Living with dementia can be challenging, whether you are the person with dementia or a caregiver. But free help is available through a federally-supported initiative called GUIDE (Guiding an Improved Dementia Experience).
GUIDE offers:
Substitute care that gives caregivers a short-term break from caregiving duties and enables them to take care of their own personal tasks and errands.
Practical training on the best ways to care for someone with dementia.
Personalized care plans that adapt as needs evolve.
Comprehensive assessments to understand the specific challenges and strengths of each individual and caregiver.
Ongoing support with regular check-ins to help navigate the complexities of dementia care.
Clients may or may not have a caregiver.
Texas Healthy at Home is a GUIDE provider site that subcontracts with community-based organizations to provide these services.
